Is a dirty engine bay harmful to your vehicle?

Having a dirty engine bay is never fun to look at and to work on. There are a few reasons why it is important to keep your engine bay clean and we would love to share it with you!

Reason #1:

Having a dirty engine bay is atrocious for hiding problems that could affect your vehicle’s performance. This could hide electrical issues, broken parts, cracks in your motor, etc. Cleaning your engine bay would help eliminate these problems, as well as, help track down any leaks that may be present. 

Reason #2:

Neglected Engine bays that have dirt could cause foul smells coming into your vehicle. What could cause these smells?

  • Oil leaks
  • Coolant leaks
  • Grease 
  • A/C Leaks
  • Brake Fluid 

I’m sure there is more to be listed but we covered some of the main causes. We all love to have a fresh smelling car and these would bring unwanted scents into them.

Reason #3:

When a part on the vehicle fails and needs to be replaced, it’s a safe bet that no one likes to work on a dirty engine. Keeping the engine bay clean would make it easier to work on and could prevent parts from becoming seized. Seized Bolt Could cause more damage to your engine when removing them.

Reason #4:

When selling your vehicle, its important to have the engine bay cleaned for presentable satisfaction. Buyers always love to look under the hood to see if there are any mechanical failures and what kind of state the motor may be in. Presenting a vehicle with a clean engine not only will increase the resale value, but will also boost the confidence of the buyer.
