We recommend being as sympathetic as possible to ensure the coating lasts beyond its warranty and shines for the foreseeable future. Here’s what we suggest and what works best for our coated vehicles; when there is minimal dust or debris touchless carwashes are ideal. Less contact with the painted surface means less risk of scratching. A touchless carwash as often as every week and then a sympathetic hand wash using soft mitts and drying towels at least every month or two (as a touchless carwash may not remove all of the debris every time) should be plenty. This is not to say that you cannot use automatic/brush carwashes, we just don’t recommend them because they are known to cause damage. At minimum, you should be washing at least every month or two.
Start with a pressure wash rinse to loosen any dirt, debris, or other contaminants on the surface. Cleaning the wheels, wheelwells, and freeing up any bugs from the windshield and front end of the vehicle first. Once those are taken care of and the vehicle has been rinsed you can apply a foam soap, or a use a wash bucket that has a soap concentrate added (do not use soaps that have wax or sealants e.g. “wash and shine”, “wash and wax”, “wash and glow”, etc. as those waxes will simply sit on the surface and hinder the coatings ability to shine through.) Utilizing a soft microfiber wash mitt (no wool), using light pressure across the surface to remove any deep set debris. A functional coating is not going to hold onto debris like stock paint will, light pressure will do. Once the entire painted surface is clean, rinse thoroughly and use a soft/plush drying towel to absorb any leftover water. No spray additives, waxes, or sealants are necessary, they’ll only streak over the surface. We recommend a plush towel and water only to remove streaking as a final step.

When pricing out professionally installed ceramic coatings you are not just looking at the coating itself but all the proper prep work, including but not limited to paint decontamination, paint correction, paint touch up, paint cleansing, the actual ceramic coat and durability if it, the warranty that comes with it and any other benefits like a CARFAX report, etc.
A true ceramic coating will protect your vehicle from 1 year to 10 years when properly installed. There are many different brands, types and levels of coatings, but not all will back up their product and installers with warranties. All true ceramic coatings do need proper care after being installed and that can also affect longevity and how long you’ll see the benefits. It’s a good idea to have frequent check ups with the installer to ensure your ceramic coating is performing well.
Yes. There are specific ceramic coatings formulated for wheels that can take the extreme heat and abuse of the wheels over time. There are different types of wheels, i.e. aluminum, chrome, clear coated, etc. and there are coatings that pair with each for optimum performance.
Yes. Many ceramic coatings are versatile and can be installed on various types of surfaces. There are also marine specific coatings that can be installed as well. For boat and marine purposes we advise a higher end or more durable coating as being in the water can be rough on any surfaces.

Most professional grade coatings will take anywhere from 1 to 3 days depending on the amount of prep work needed before the actual coating installation.
Yes and no. There are many DIY friendly coatings but there are also many professional grade coatings that require professional installation. Many coatings can be forgiving but others can be difficult to work with if you are not properly trained and have no experience. Many coatings cannot be warrantied if DIY is installed.
Each ceramic coating should have manufacturer specific instructions for maintenance and care. If professionally installed, many installers have maintenance programs you can sign up for. As a general rule of thumb do not take your ceramic coated vehicle through an automatic car wash unless it’s completely touchless. Hand washing with proper techniques, tools and chemicals will make a huge difference in the long run.
The best ceramic coating on the market today is… truth be told there is no best. There are many bests. Everyone is different. Every vehicle is different and is used differently. The best ceramic coating for you is the one that makes the most sense for your specific vehicle, what it’s used for and how you drive and maintain it.
